The human being is a species of mammal that belongs to the order Primates. This classification places humans as closely related to monkeys and apes, which are also primates. The scientific community recognizes two main categories within the primate group: prosimians and simians. Prosimians include lemurs and lorises, while simians encompass all other types of primates, including humans. Prosimians are generally smaller than simians and have a more primitive appearance. They are found in various parts of the world, including Africa, Asia, and Madagascar. In contrast, simians are larger and more intelligent than prosimians. This category includes monkeys, apes, and humans. Humans possess unique characteristics that set them apart from other primates. One key feature is their upright posture, which allows them to walk on two legs. This adaptation has enabled humans to develop complex societies and cultures. Humans also have a highly developed brain, enabling them to communicate through language and solve complex problems.
