My wife snapped the hook on the stick that opens the attic stairs door, so I fashioned a new one. No need to make a big deal out of it. This one is built to print in two pieces, which gives the hook part extra strength. There's a hole in the cylinder for an M3 screw or bolt to attach it securely to the end of the broomstick. The other hole at the end is designed for a 30mm x 4mm countersunk wood screw, like the ones I have stashed away in my toolbox - hopefully you've got something similar lying around too.
