Atomos Ninja V SSD Case
thingiverse
This is a compact SSD enclosure for the Atomos Ninja V HDMI recorder. Inspired by https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3949721, this design eliminates the need to cut the SSD enclosure - simply remove the SSD circuit board completely and attach it to the printed case. Atomos demands excessive pricing for compatible SSDs, charging double what others cost: https://www.angelbird.com/prod/atomx-ssdmini-by-angelbird-2110 This print allows you to use a standard 2.5" SSD drive in half the space of Atom X drives. Improved cooling is also possible due to the unobstructed fan inlet. **Note**: There are two circuit board sizes - one from Samsung 850 EVO and another from 860 EVO. Two files are included: "large" for larger boards, and others for smaller ones. A person has confirmed that a 1TB 860 EVO fits the smaller caddy; however, no guarantee is provided regarding other manufacturers' screw patterns. Most SSDs are only an inch or two deep, with circuit boards taking up minimal space within their enclosures. This print minimizes size while still holding the SSD in place by friction at the back of the Ninja. ## SSD Removal Remove screws from the enclosure's back, including those hidden under a sticker (see image). Two screws are needed. ## Enclosure Assembly Attach the SSD board to "atomos_ninja_ssd_bottom.stl" print with the face down. Place "atomos_ninja_ssd_top.stl" print on top and slide it into the Atomos Ninja V HDMI recorder for a seamless fit.
