Atomo de Hidrogeno-2 (Deuterio)
sketchfab
The deuterium, hydrogen-2, or 2H, is another stable isotope of hydrogen; its atomic nucleus consists of one proton and one neutron. Deuterium makes up 0.0026% to 0.0184% of all terrestrial hydrogen. This isotope is not radioactive and does not pose a significant risk of toxicity. Molecules of water that contain deuterium instead of protium are called heavy water; if the molecule contains only one atom of deuterium and another of protium, it's called semi-heavy water. Deuterium and its components are used as non-radioactive labels or markers in chemical experiments or solvents for 1H-NMR spectroscopy. Heavy water is used as a neutron moderator and coolant in nuclear reactors.
