ATOMIC Mahjong Card (filament color change)
thingiverse
My wife asked me to print these "strange" looking cards for her mahjong game. To get the text printed in a contrasting color, a filament change is necessary. Disclaimer: Modifying a G-code file poses inherent risks. Any mistake can cause the printer to behave unexpectedly, potentially ruining the print and/or the printer. Be cautious and triple-check your work. The G-code files generated by Cura contain hundreds of thousands or millions of lines of code. The best way to navigate through the code is by using the search command in a text editor. For example, searching for "pause" or "layer" can be helpful. Ensure that your text editor does not format the text and can load the entire file at once. Use an end-of-G-code comment near the end of the file as a reference point. Different slicers and printers produce distinct G-code files. This information is provided for educational purposes, enabling you to create custom modifications to the G-code for a safe and effective filament color change. Utilize your slicer's pause command as a starting point and familiarize yourself with each command's effects on your printer. Avoid changing filament types, such as switching from ABS to PLA, as this can be complex due to differences in nozzle temperature and bed temperature requirements. I've included my G-code file for reference purposes only. It is highly specific to my printer and setup defaults. Do not use this G-code file for printing. Instead, create your own file based on your slicer's pause command and modify it according to the instructions below using G-code commands suitable for your printer. Enjoy.
