This is by far the most intricate and detailed model I have ever created up to this point. It is a fully tested 1/7.5 scale 3D printable cutaway model of the Atomic bomb, ironically nicknamed "Little Boy" that demonstrates how it works exactly as intended. The entire model consists of an impressive 112 parts, prints without any supports and slots/clips together seamlessly. Only the trolley and the antennae require gluing or solvent welding in order to be complete, whereas all other components click into place perfectly. It also boasts two 9V battery compartments with removable lids, as well as a separate box that houses a standard toggle switch, making it a highly functional model. Furthermore, there are three holes for mounting LED's, offering endless possibilities for customization and display purposes. Time is of the essence, so I have not painted or completed the wiring on this prototype yet, but rest assured, I will be sure to post my results once the process is complete. Here is what you can expect from me: 1- All the individual parts in obj & stl format are provided for your convenience. 2- The gcode files used to print this model are also available for reference. 3- A comprehensive PDF instruction manual with step-by-step instructions is included, so anyone can assemble this complex device. A brief history of the creation process: This devastating device has captivated me like no other topic, while at the same time, striking fear into my very soul. Following up on an idea I had previously animating a mushroom cloud in 3D, I decided to bring it to life by creating the actual bomb dropping from Enola Gay, after researching what it would look like and consulting online references. Using that momentum, I took on the daunting task of modelling the entire device inside and out, eventually leading me to share it with everyone here. It became a moderate success so far, prompting me to try remodelling it entirely for 3D printability purposes. The outcome is truly exceptional and I am thrilled with how it turned out. To boot, the trolley wheels rotate just as they should. A few minor adjustments were made post-printing process that resulted in improved performance; now, you'll have a smooth-operating model featuring a slotted-in casing and a perfectly clicking-on cover design. Here's to your satisfaction, and I wish you enjoy this detailed 3D cutaway of "Little Boy" just as much as I did during its creation!
