Revised: I removed all of the options for the dials, opting instead for two distinct designs that have proven to work the best through testing. This project involves creating a micrometer dial specifically designed for an Atlas lathe carriage stop, as showcased in Lyle Peterson's videos at https://youtu.be/Weki8X5q5Mk and https://youtu.be/JguS7bv8Ga0. Additional information about the design is available in the video at https://youtu.be/8C7-sSVhf5M. Drawings of the remaining parts, which must be made from metal for added strength, can be found here: https://goo.gl/9dmklz. The dials print with intricate threads and graduations, making these components the most time-consuming and challenging aspects of the build. Multiple graduation types are included in the design, and the version depicted is an embossed file (STL files are measured in millimeters). To enhance visibility, I applied white silicone caulk to the embossed lettering. This material was chosen due to its thickness, which prevents it from seeping between the layers while providing high contrast and chemical resistance by filling in the embossing.
