Atlas Cardboard Chair
thingiverse
This is a cardboard chair I designed as an internal design challenge I proposed to my workmates. The design requirements were:Use the less amount of cardboard as possible. It must be easy to assemble. No glue allowed to build the chair. The chair has to withstand your weight. As cardboard comes from wood, I thought that it would be great to use cardboard as wood,so I tried to adapt an arts&crafts style chair to make it from cardboard.I used Solidworks to model the rough shape, then I drew and refine everything in ArtiosCAD and then I cut the final files on a Kongsberg cutting plotter. It takes around 6/8 minutes to assemble all parts.
