Atlas B/C Rocket

Atlas B/C Rocket

thingiverse

1:100 model of the Atlas B and Atlas C rockets. The Atlas B rocket was the first of the Atlas rockets to include the stage and a half technology. A later version of this prototype reached orbit in 1958 placing the SCORE payload into orbit. This is the very satellite that broadcast Eisenhower's Christmas broadcast! Later improvements such as lighter fuel tanks were incorporated into the Atlas C rocket for further testing. Given the long history of the Atlas its hard to tack down a single version as there was many different iterations. I will post groupings of versions which were mostly similar to one another as to not clutter my page. As such the fuel tanks, fairings, and engines will be interchangeable if you'd like to piece together a version of the rocket I didn't directly model. This shouldn't need any supports when printed in sections. Anything larger than a 0.4 nozzle will loose some details of the model.
