Athorbot Spool Holder
thingiverse
I made a quick part for the Authorbot Brother and Buddy Printers. I printed two, mounted them with M4-12 screws, cut the rod to the desired length if using the 2 outside screw mounts for 2 spool reels. I used the rod that came with it on the center and end single spool mount. The flat side goes inside. Update: I added a second version with a little more support. I also removed the pointed top. For me, this had a little support printed with it and made the top rough. I would like to note that this was made to be as low as possible so that the printer will not be top-heavy and reduce vibration. Update: I was going to add a filament clip to the holder but liked Patrick Nelson's clean version, so I made a stand-alone version. I have two versions - a front and a back clip onto the frame. This can be used for other printers as well now. I added a tweaked version of the spool holder that Pat made, but this one will pop into place without a metal rod to hold it. You can still add the rod if you want to do so. Print the filament clips with support. I printed them both ways and found a little stringing with the overhangs. If you want to flip them on their side, you may not need support. I know it took me a while to update this, but I needed some time to test them and figure out the style that I liked. Since this bolt and nut has high detail, please print them in 0.1 resolution. You can print the spool reel holder with no to low fill at any resolution. As always, I thank you. Enjoy.
