Athletics Starting Revolver Sculpture
thingiverse
Humanity's ode to the iconic starting revolver used in athletic competitions and possibly other sports. The electronic pistol has gained popularity, threatening the classic revolvers' disappearance. This sculpture is a tribute to these elegant models. The original model is based on an Arminius revolver. The set comes with two Knall cartridges resting on a stand. I included a separate STL for the cartridge. However, it's not required for this design. The sensor wire is made from 3mm filament, simply placed on top. For more assembly information, please refer to the Instructions tab. This model needs minimal support but removing excess material was straightforward. If you decide to create one, please share your results! Instructions Print the model in three parts: the revolver itself, its mirror counterpart (create a mirrored version), and the stand. The revolver requires support during printing due to the part where it connects with the stand being slightly elevated off the ground. Your slicer may also detect two other areas that need support - the nozzle of the gun and the wire entrance. You can avoid support material for these areas if your slicer allows it. For assembly, I used superglue which works effectively in bonding the parts together. Before applying any adhesive, ensure all support material has been removed and that the stand fits neatly into the revolver's recessed area, making cleanup easier.
