Athena of Velletri
thingiverse
This 1127.5mm-tall Athena of Velletri data set originated from a 19th-century plaster cast of the Munich Glyptothek's 2nd-century AD marble, which is now at Skulpturhalle Basel museum in Basel, Switzerland. In September 2013, Cosmo Wenman captured this 3D model as part of his Through A Scanner, Skulpturhalle project. He used it in a presentation to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in early 2014, arguing that museums should digitize important works existing in multiple copies. Athena of Velletri is housed in collections at Skulpturhalle Basel, Munich Glyptothek, Louvre and LACMA. Wenman used Blender for editing the print, which was made on an Objet500, with thanks to Autodesk's Reality Capture division and Skulpturhalle Basel museum.
