This Carrara marble bust portrays Athena, the Roman goddess of war strategy, distinguished by her helmet, robust facial features, and hair cascading down her shoulders. It originates from Herculaneum, situated within the rectangular peristyle of Papyri's villa; this Roman work is a reproduction of a Greek herma (circle of Phidias) and now resides on permanent display at The National Archaeological Museum of Naples. This object is part of "Scan The World".
