This iconic sculpture of Athena often gets called Hephaisteia because it was once taken to be the cult statue in the renowned Hephaesteum. Alongside a small box containing the revered Erichthonius snake, this powerful figure stands tall. Athena, frequently referred to by her epithet Pallas, is the esteemed goddess of wisdom, skilled craftsmanship, and fierce warfare in ancient Greek mythology and religion. Her Roman counterpart, Minerva, shares many attributes with Athena.
