Athearn Motor Circuit Board Mount

Athearn Motor Circuit Board Mount

A bracket/mount to support a circuit board off the motor (84040) of an HO scale Athearn Blue Box Locomotive. The bracket adds about 3mm of width to the motor. I'm currently rebuilding an [F7A/B](https://hoseeker.net/assemblyexplosionAthearn/athearnf7ab1984.jpg), so this is not a problem. I do not think it will be a problem for a GP9 either, but I've not tried it yet. There are holes in the mount so that wires from the motor can reach the circuit board from below. I've used superglue to bond a piece of strip board to the mount's platform. Near-term, I'm using this bracket to replace the problematic connector clip. Long term, I'm hoping the circuit board will speed a potential future conversion to DCC. The bracket could likely be improved by increasing the height of the ribbing below the circuit board platform, adding some fillets, and potentially converting the platform to be a frame around the circuit board. This design was inspired by the work of [Elite194](https://www.youtube.com/@elite194).
