I found the 4 way restrictor plates from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4932566 didn't limit the travel quite enough to avoid hitting the diagonals. I redid the design to tighten up the space and find it now works to avoid diagonals pretty well. I found it works quite well for Ms Pac Man and other similar control games.
