Atari XL Sophia 2 & Stereo Enclosure
prusaprinters
This is an external enclosure to house the Sophia 2 DVI connector and two RCA style audio plug to connect to either a stereo Pokey setup or PokeyMax. This enclosure leverages the RF modulator hole on the Atari XL case, so that the RF modulator cannot be present if you want to use this design.A couple of things about this design:The Sophia cable will need to be made in place and threaded through all the openings first ( the external enclosure, the cover, the Atari XL case and the nut) before finalizing the cable. The Sophia 2 connectors are too big to fit through any of the openings being used. So this will mean it is more or less permanent. For me, it is not an issue, since I can easily remake the cable.I recommend using a shielded cable for the stereo Pokey or Pokeymax.Make sure the PLA filament that you use for the screw does not have weakness in material that would make it weak and prone to shearing. Test to make sure the screw is strong enough to hand some stress. I had one PLA filament that I tested that would shear with just a little pressure making not suitable for this application.Disclaimer: I make no warranties for this design and I am not responsible for any damage incurred during the deployment and/or implementation of this design.
