Atari ST 2.42" Oled Display Floppy Stack

thingiverse

Stack of three 3.5-inch floppy disks features an opening cut out to hold a compact 2.42-inch OLED display, which is currently printing. Once completed, a picture will be uploaded to show the finished design. The plan is to place it on top of the ST and run wires for the display through the top vents. Three buttons are intended for +, -, and eject functions. An attempt is being made to mount both an original floppy disk and a de-cased Gotek internally, allowing them to be swapped via a hidden switch. The 2.42-inch OLED used in this project can be found on eBay at https://www.ebay.com/itm/132059553860. Modifications have been made to the top of the stack in version two, widening the metal 'door' section's outline and cutting it deeper into the face. Additionally, the stack has been adjusted to reduce overhang issues. Version three includes three button holes. A complete redesign is featured in version four, with corrected dimensions and an opening for the OLED display that fits without enlargement. The design has been cleaned up significantly, and one of the options features a SONY MF2DD logo on top, while another is blank. The number of buttons has been reduced from three to two. The Atari logo version is likely to be the final iteration of this design, aside from possible tweaks to button placement. Everything appears to fit together seamlessly, and printing should not pose too much difficulty. A smaller Gotek board (47x46 mm) will be used in conjunction with an existing floppy disk, and a switch will be wired to swap them as needed. The mini board is available at https://www.sellmyretro.com/offer/details/32413.
