I made some minor adjustments to Atari SIO plug so it would fit perfectly with the FT232RL USB to serial board from ebay. The board measures 26x16mm without a pin header. I used 3.96mm pitch contacts in the Atari plug, such as those found on this example. To connect the PCB, first remove the pin header and solder a jumper to 5V on the bottom side of the board. Next, hook up:\r\nSIO 3 (Data In) -> TXD (via Schottky diode from Atari --|>I-- TXD)\r\nSIO 4 (Ground) -> GND\r\nSIO 5 (Data Out) -> RXD\r\nSIO 7 (CMD) -> CTS\r\nYou can skip the diode if you won't be using the adapter in SIO daisy-chain mode. Consider using transparent filament to see the RX/TX activity diodes on the PCB.
