This is an adaptation - subtle revision - of norm8332's SIO plug design. I adjusted it to 95% to ensure compatibility with PLA printing material and replaced the fastener with a reliable M3 x 10-mm cap head screw secured without a nut. My initial attempt failed due to inadequate soldering technique, specifically excessive wire length protruding under the spring. A more effective approach is demonstrated in the accompanying photographs - keep wire out of the spring for optimal performance. Fortunately, it now functions as intended. I utilized 7x20 gauge sprinkler system cable, which exhibits a slightly stiffer texture. However, I was too impatient to wait for an online order and instead found this option at my local home improvement store.
