Atari 2600 Heavy Sixer A/V Breakout

This is a breakout box specifically for the Heavy Sixer Atari 2600s manufactured in Sunnyvale, CA. It won't work for any later models, as the case design changed significantly. This replaces the RF cable, and uses the case hole for the cable/grommet as a base to attach itself. Still a WIP, but I have used it successfully on 2 heavys so far. I recommend using hot glue or the like to solidly secure the box to the back of your heavy sixer. I'm still tweaking the design a bit for now. The basic gist is you print the box halves, the placard, and the retainer clip. Remove the grommet from your 2600, and poke the box through it, then use the clip to secure the whole thing to the case. I used hot glue all over the place to secure the bits to the back of the 2600, and also to secure the retention clip in place. Also, be sure to remove the integrated support on the top half marked with 3 Xs. It should snap off easily. This is designed around the "Uxcell PCB Panel Mount Triple RCA Socket Female Jack Audio Video AV Connector Red White Yellow" available on Amazon. The standout feature of this PCB mount jack set is its cheapness and availability. (I mean, it's seriously cheap - almost too cheap.) I've included two versions of the top half - one with the label placard integrated, and one with the placard as a separate part. The text is more legible with the separate placard, but it has to be glued or otherwise secured in place during assembly. The basic idea is you run your cables from your AV mod out the hole in the 2600 and thread it through the box. Next, solder up the jacks. Then assemble the box itself with screws. Lastly, use the clip to secure the box to the 2600's case. Use hot glue or other adhesive along the way, as necessary. Of course, more details and instructions will be included when the thing is finalized.
