Power Supply for Atari 1050 / XF551 Floppy --------------------------------------------------------- This power supply design is perfect for any Atarist who lacks a functional power supply for their Atari 1050 or Atari XF551 floppy disk drive. The design utilizes a new industrial transformer and common components. For production, it's essential to use a material with higher temperature resistance, such as HT-PETG or ABS-T. This will ensure the power supply can withstand various temperatures. Additionally, consider adding a self-extinguishing additive (flame retardant / UL94-V0) for extra safety. The power connector should be a standard computer connector with an adequate fuse. Installing a thermal fuse in the source is also recommended. The model is designed to accommodate a transformer with handles spaced 43.5 mm and 72.5 mm apart, allowing easy attachment to the lower base. Please note that the perforation should provide sufficient insulation for the living parts inside the source. When producing this power supply, it's crucial to entrust it to a person qualified with the appropriate electrical training. The whole project can be assembled from the following parts: * A suitable transformer with a minimum of 30 VA, such as Indel, Hahn, or Intronic * 2 meters of double line (copper wire) with a cross section of 1 mm² * Socket C14 with a hole for fuse and a fuse * Coaxial power connector 2.5 x 5.5 mm * Thermal fuse * Screws: 2 pieces ∅3/8 mm, 8 pieces ∅3/12 mm, 2 pieces countersunk screws ∅3/16 mm or 2 pieces M3x12 countersunk head screw with hexagon socket + square nut low M3 * Instrument feet: 4 pieces * Optional operation indication by diode The following variants are available: * Without power connector * With C8 power connector * With power connector C14 * With power connector C14 and fuse * With power connector C14 and switch * With power connector C14, fuse, and switch If you'd like to support the designer, consider buying them a beer or subscribing to their OldComp YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/odkaznik/
