AT72ED Scope focuser support
thingiverse
This support enables mounting a stepper motor onto a scope, making it possible to fine tune focus using an Arduino without physically touching the scope and risking vibration issues. To achieve this setup, I've employed rubber bands to securely attach the mount onto the scope itself. A small belt is used to drive the focus knob in place, ensuring smooth operation. Prior to assembly, both parts were carefully aligned to ensure optimal positioning of the belt, knob, and gear. A custom gear was sourced from Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:16627) for compatibility with my chosen belt. Alternatively, you can adapt it to your specific belt model. The belt itself was procured from a local hardware store as a spare part for a vacuum cleaner, proving to be an ideal fit for this application.
