AT-AS quadruped (or hexapod) robot
thingiverse
The "AT-AS" is a cost-effective, printable quadruped robot, featuring a fully functional walking base. Its open design allows for various development possibilities, such as transforming its quadruped model into a hexapod or modifying the leg and modular structure design. The robot's flexibility extends to adding sensors for improved control and wireless communication via Xbee modules. The "Versatile Servo Bracket System" by bryanandaimee was utilized, while other components were self-designed using OpenSCAD and C++ OOML. Key elements include an Arduino Mega 2560, eight Futaba S3003 servos, a 2S, 7.4V lipo battery, UBEC (5V), remote control via gamepad, and wireless communication through Bluetooth or XBee modules. The robot is compatible with various microcontrollers, servos, and components. A video of the AT-AS in action can be viewed on YouTube. In the future, the quadruped model may evolve into a hexapod by using the "hip_evolution_hexapod" part, which requires printing two additional legs. Instructions for installation and programming will be available soon.
