thingiverse
A 3D printable grip and lens cover for the ASUS XTION motion sensing hardware makes hand-held 3D scanning more ergonomic, comfortable, and convenient. This affordable accessory includes a lens cap that protects optics when stored, can be attached to the back of the device during use, and has a flat base surface for upright standing or table-top use. Holes on the base allow easy attachment to various surfaces while the grip accommodates the ferrite core of the USB cable, keeping it organized within the design. The original Rhino surface CAD file and STEP version are supplied for customization, along with high-resolution STL files and MakerBot Replicator 2 sliced files. A sample 3D scanned file is also provided in both ready-to-print STL (with supports) and MeshMixer formats. The ASUS XTION is compatible with several 3D scanner software, including Artec Studio, ReconstructMe, Skanect (for Mac), Web browser, KScan3D, and Fabitec. Instructions for separating mesh parts are provided in a YouTube video.
