Asus RT-AC88u 140mm cooling fan stand

An experimental cooling fan stand is designed specifically for the Asus RT-AC88u router. The print size requires a bed that can handle nearly 280mm in length by approximately 162mm, which I've achieved with my Folgertech FT-5 printer featuring a 300 x 300 bed. For smaller build size printers, I may need to find a way to split the print into snap-together pieces - potentially a future revision. I designed the stand around a spare Fractal Design 140mm R2 PC case fan, which is held firmly in place without needing any fasteners. Testing was also done with another broken Corsair 140mm brushless fan, but it required more force to fit this one - it somewhat fit/ worked but would sometimes pop out slightly, so your results may vary depending on the fan choice and printer scaling accuracy. A cheap USB to Fan adapter from a Chinese eBay seller is used to power the fan via the router's USB port. The cable hole in the stand is large enough for the adapter through, but not the plug itself. You might also need to unhook the fan cable from its corner clip on the fan and reroute it correctly through the hole to help the fan fit flush on the stand. This router sits in a semi-enclosed cupboard, so testing with Merlin resulted in my CPU temperature dropping from roughly 74ºc to 63ºc at an ambient temperature of around 20ºc. Assuming better temperatures could be achieved by using a dedicated 12v power supply rather than running off the USB? The print was rushed at ~120mm/s and 5% fast hex infill in PLA (without part cooling fan on my FT5 yet!) - roughly 2 hours print time, resulting in a slightly messy finish. I would probably use 10-15% infill if I were to print it again. Please comment with your results - keep in mind that this design may not work for your specific printer scaling or exact model of 140mm fan as they can differ slightly. With a bigger print like this, it's going to be a bit of a leap of faith - but good luck!
