Designed to slot in like the Switch in a way. Measurements were taken with a slim rubber case on the phone. There is a slot in the front to hold the rubber plug so you don't misplace it. The dock uses a 90 degree USB-C extension cable (https://www.amazon.com/AINOPE-Extension-Transfer-Extender-Compatible/dp/B0C4TJNX7J/). Friction fit should be nice and tight.
