I had a very weird behavior with my 970 where by when I connected both DP and HDMI, my HDMI was giving me a purple screen and very wierd behavior. After a very long process of elimination, it was caused by the IO plate. Even taping the plate didnt work. Printed a PLA plate replica and it now works perfect!
