AstroZap Bracket

AstroZap Bracket

The Astrozap dew controller is a duty cycle control unit designed to manage up to 4 telescope heat bands. The heat generated eliminates fogging on the telescope, finderscope, or camera lens due to temperature fluctuations. This is especially crucial on cold and humid evenings when temperatures drop significantly. By attaching the Astrozap electronics box to the telescope mount tripod leg, wires are less likely to become a tripping hazard in the dark, resulting in a neater setup. This project involves two 3D printed parts: the Astrozap bracket, which holds the Astrozap electronics box, and the leg collar bracket. The collar grips the 2-inch diameter EXOS II Mount tripod leg. These two parts are connected using screws listed below. Note that the leg collar bracket is the same part used to hold the Explore Scientific PMC-eight controller box described separately on my thingiverse webpage. I would like to extend my gratitude to Wes McDonald for his assistance in developing this bracket!
