AstroPi Tripod Mount

AstroPi Tripod Mount

This is an adapter for mounting a Camera Tripod on the AstroPi Flight case designed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation (https://www.raspberrypi.org/learning/3d-printed-astro-pi-flight-case/). The adapter attaches to the AstroPi through its corner bolts, but due to extra thickness of the arms, longer bolts are required - I'm using 35mm ones. After installation, the AstroPi can be attached to any standard 1/4" tripod mount. Two variants of this adapter are included: a threaded variant with screw thread built-in and no extra parts needed, but may be harder to print successfully; and a nut variant that requires inserting a 1/4" UNC nut for bolting to a tripod. The threaded variant is slightly stiffer at first, but then easier to attach/remove. The nut variant should be an easier print, but a standard outside dimension nut is needed. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Mono Mendel Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 30% Notes: I used a brim on my printer to prevent the arms from lifting while printing onto a heated glass bed. The threaded variant printed at 0.1mm, but other layer heights may not work as well.
