Astromech minifig
thingiverse
I created an astromech droid minifig to give away at conventions, bringing joy to kids' faces when they receive one of mine. As a droid builder, it's always great to see the smile on their faces. This 2-piece design is specifically intended for printing with resin SLA, MSLA, DLP, or similar printers. While FDM can be used, it won't produce the same level of detail. I deliberately exaggerated the features so they'd be visible when printed. The model stands about 1.25 inches tall. The body can be printed directly on the build plate with no supports needed for its feet. I added Kenny Baker leg covers to aid in printing. For the head, it's best to print without supports, but removing it from the plate might be challenging due to its tilted orientation (about 30 degrees). Be cautious when handling this part.
