Astromech LDP CSL (Large Data Port) + Vegas
thingiverse
One CSL LDP (Large Data Port) for my R2 (Dave's Styrene plans). Did this in 123d Design and further in Fusion 360 (Vegas Neopixels). I created the LDP in this way to make it easy to sand, paint, assemble, and fit to the styrene body. Magnets will secure them to the body when finished. You can choose not to print the back pieces if you want it open - else select backfull or backvegas (neopixels). It can be hot glued together - I use PS3 screws from https://www.aliexpress.com/item/20PCS-For-Sony-PS3-PS2-PS4-Controller-Philips-Head-Replacement-Screw-Set-Screws/32526791783.html. Six magnets are 10mm x 2mm N35 - Ebay. Thirty-three neopixels are 1m of 144/mtr (so 144 of them) cut down. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1m-5m-WS2812B-Smart-led-pixel-strip-Black-White-PCB-30-60-144-leds-m-WS2812/32636234899.html. I got the "Black 1m 144 IP30". Orient the pieces as in the Simplify3D screen shot - not as thingiverse has them (weird). Layer 0.2, Nozzle 215 deg C, Bed 50 deg C, 60-80 mm/s, PLA. Printed on CR-10. R2D2 blue paint is Dupli-Color Touch-Up Paint - Mitsubishi Electro, 150g - http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/Dupli-Color-Touch-Up-Paint-Mitsubishi-Electro-150g/356919.
