Astroinseguitore - Barn door tracker
thingiverse
The Barn door trackers is designed to track the apparent motion of stars caused by the Earth's rotation, thus eliminating the scrapes typical of stellar photography long exposure not pursued. The Barn door trackers can also be used as head Pan (or Tilt) for panoramic photos. To complete the setup: 1 stepper motor with a 100:1 gearbox http://www.omc-stepperonline.com/gear-ratio-1001-planetary-gearbox-with-nema-11-stepper-motor-11hs200674spg100-p-36.html 2 bearing 6002 30 CM aluminum tube 15x1 1 sprocket XL 037 with 18 teeth 1 sprocket XL 037 with 45 teeth 1 V belt XL 037 120 For the command part: 1 Arduino Nano 1 StepStick 1 LCD I2C 20x4 1 membrane keyboard 4x1 1 optocoupler 4n35 4 resistances of 10 Kohm 1 resistance of 68 ohms 1 printed circuit board MamoUnit This setup provides a resolution of: Motor gear = 200 x 99.05 = 19,810 Gears = 45 / 18 = 2.5 In practice, it takes approximately 19810 x 2.5 = 49525 steps to make one full rotation. Resolution = 360° / 49525 = 0.00727° approximately Earth rotation time in seconds: 23 h 56 min 4 s, converted into milliseconds: 86.164.000 So, it takes approximately 86164000 / 49525 = 1739.808 ms for one step
