Astro A50 Headphone Strap

Astro A50 Headphone Strap

thingiverse

I made this headphone strap for my Astro A50 using 3D modeling software and it fits perfectly so far. I designed it in Blender and TinkerCad, which was actually easier than trying to modify the original model with over 50 individual parts grouped together. To make the straps looser on your head, you can use a heatgun to carefully soften the ABS plastic and pull it out to the desired width without overstretching. This is easier than making multiple versions for different head sizes. Note that when using a heatgun, be cautious not to melt the middle part of the strap like I did accidentally. You might want to do this step before adding any attachments in the middle section. This design isn't perfect, but it does the job and has some minor improvements over the original, such as a slightly larger ring slot that doesn't seem to cause any issues. The ring should fit snugly into the headphone screw hole without needing metal inserts. If you find a better design, please let me know! Companies often don't share their object files for parts like this, which can be frustrating when trying to replace them. PS: If someone has access to high-definition 3D scanning technology, that would be an ideal way to obtain a precise object file. Maybe I'll invest in one of these scanners myself someday. Print Settings: Printer: Ecubmaker Fantasy Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 200 Microns Infill: 100% Notes: I used a Skirt/Brim of around 8 to help hold the strap to the bed during printing. You could also use a small raft, which is relatively printer-friendly.
