Astro A50 18650 Li-Ion Enclosure/Frame

I designed this enclosure/frame specifically to accommodate an 18650 Li-Ion cell in the Astro A50 series headphones. The mounting clamp snaps tightly onto the right earcup frame, still allowing unobstructed access to the audio mixing rocker plate. Finding the perfect gaming/music headset is a never-ending quest, but the Astro A50s are among my top choices. Unfortunately, their stock battery capacity falls short, and I grew tired of the annoyingly loud low-battery beeping sound. Installing a Nuon 3.6v 3600mah Li-Ion 18650 has more than tripled my battery life, giving me easy access to upgrade to an even higher-capacity cell if needed. To install this mod, you'll need to be capable of disassembling the left earcup to access the stock lithium pack, desoldering the battery and its protection/charge PCB. Next, route three wires from the left to right earcup, resolder the PCB to a new 18650, solder the three leads from the left earcup to the PCB, install this enclosure, and the new battery. Please note that using this mod releases me from any liability for damages or injuries sustained while attempting these procedures.
