I've been playing with the idea of making a piece of furniture that uses ceramics in it for a long time now, and this table idea came from that attempt. I mainly used 3d printing as a “quick” way to do mock-ups. I ended up printing the master mold from which the slip-cast production molds were made, the glazing dip tank, and also the transition parts between different materials. After about three and a half years, I ran out of energy and money. Attached are photos of the processes I used and some of the other leg shapes. If there is an interest, I will rework and share more of the other designs.Print settings for photographed model using PrusaSlicer-2.3.1 based on Slic3r:0.30mm DRAFT Infill: 20% Generic PETG(3) - astro_leg_section_1(3) - astro_leg_section_2(3) - astro_leg_section_3(3) - astro_leg_section_40.30mm DRAFT(modified) Infill: 100% Generic PETG(3) - threaded_rod_to_table_top_connector(3) - dished_washer(3) - glideHardware list:(3) 1/4-20×21.5” threaded rod(6) 1/4-20 hex nuts(3) 1/4” washers(9) 1-1/4” pocket hole screwsTop 18" diameterAssembly video on YouTube.
