High resolution 3D models are created according to real-life references. The native format for these models is Cinema 4D R20, which can utilize HyperNurbs subdivision. Other formats export the model at a single resolution, allowing it to be further subdivided. The exported formats include 3DS, Max, FBX, and OBJ, which are designed to work seamlessly with popular modeling software like Maya, LightWave, etc. Using an FBX file for import is highly recommended because it preserves basic material properties, object hierarchies, UVW coordinates, and quad geometry. This format ensures that the model can be easily animated or modified using car animation plugins. Each exported format has a hierarchy of parent and child objects ready to animate manually or automatically. All mesh parts are separated by material and joined under an empty object used as their pivot. Materials, textures, and objects are carefully sorted to facilitate creating custom materials for specific render engines. Only the native C4D version comes with special features: animated using Xpresso, with exterior and interior lighting included, automatic reverse and brake lights added.
