Astora Sword - Dark Souls This versatile sword is composed of several print-friendly components, easily created using an i3 printer's 3D capabilities. The hilt serves as the largest printed piece; I highly recommend setting your z-axis to 5mm and enabling support structures with a density of 15-20% and brim or rafting to ensure a solid base. The sword's blade is segmented into nine high-precision parts, each 10cm in height, specifically designed to counter potential issues stemming from vibration. Additionally, I carefully drafted the entire design with an integral cavity allowing for a rigid steel rod of 8mm diameter to be inserted within, greatly enhancing stability. To facilitate smooth printing: • Utilize a consistent infill setting of 15% for optimal results. • Suppress support structures for all components, apart from the hilt's unique requirement for structural reinforcement. • Sequentially print each section of the blade, following an organized workflow. In cases where you have access to a nozzle diameter of 0.4mm or larger, print both the handle and blade with an extruder temperature optimized at 0.32mm and print other parts with an ideal diameter setting of either 0.16 or 0.12mm.
