Made by Amit OferTaken from FRC team: Galaxia's (#5897) 2020 robot - "Asteria"The system is designed to draw ~40 amps at 12 Volts and can reach a speed of around 0.5 m/s which translates to a climb time of less than 1 second.The climbing mechanism consists of 2 twin elevators, each powered by a gearbox utilizing one 775pro motor. Having 2 elevators means the robot can change the angle of the robot relative to the bar.The system keeps the robot in place after the match ends using a custom-made pneumatic friction brake.Each friction brake can hold 86.3kg, for a total of 172.6 kg.
