Assistive Accessories for Glucose Testing

The high diabetes rate among veterans necessitates self-glucose testing; however, upper extremity amputees often face challenges using traditional lancing devices. Our assistive design includes an Adapted Lancing Device and a Glucose Meter Holder, both compatible with split hook prosthetics. The Lancing Device allows fingertip pricks on the intact hand, while the Holder ensures one-handed test strip insertion and blood drop application. This improves independence and flexibility in managing diabetes for veterans. More details can be found in the provided .pdf file.
