Assateague Lighthouse - Chincoteague Virginia
thingiverse
I wanted to 3D print this - https://www.tinkercad.com/things/dJeDZeFinG0-assateague-island-lighthouse - by Sarah Cath, so I reworked it. To export it, I had to remove all the extras, rocks, fence, and other details. The top of the lighthouse needed a redesign to print decent without support as the thin windows were breaking off with support. I split this into 3 pieces to print at 100% scale on my Ender 5. As you can see in the picture, it's about 16 inches tall. I included the Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 G-code files as they worked perfectly on my Ender 5. I also added 3MF and STL files for convenience. The other files are the full lighthouse without being cut apart. One is before I repaired it in 3D Builder, with more detail including the actual light mechanism in the top that I had to remove because it wouldn't print without support. I'm not sure if a SLA printer could handle it or not. I want to emphasize: no supports! If you use supports, it will mess up the building by winding inside the structures. There's a floor at the height of the bottom of the door that I couldn't figure out how to remove and it's holding up the chimney and staircase. I'd like to remove it and extend both further down the base but I was lucky to get it this good and print it successfully! You may encounter some stringing between the base and the subfloor due to insane bridging, but it doesn't affect anything and mine printed fine that way. You might see some squiggles here and there, but they won't impact how it prints (at least for me). If you have any questions, please ask. Comments and makes are appreciated!
