Assassins Katana

I created a sword for my kid's Assassin costume. The design is based on concept art from Pinterest and was modified to meet my child's preferences. I used Maya to model the sword and Zbrush to add detail. To increase strength, the sword is divided into two halves, each consisting of three pieces, with a channel running along its length to accommodate a bent M4 threaded rod. The pieces and rod were secured with epoxy glue, and the entire assembly was painted using silver and acrylic paints. The parts were printed on my Prusa i3 MK2 3D printer at a layer thickness of 0.35mm for speed. While printing at a lower resolution would have produced better details, I deliberately chose this setting to achieve an etched effect that adds visual interest to the sword. In addition to the sword, I also created a leather scabbard for it. The process involved drawing a template, cutting out the shape, punching holes, sawing, and painting the leather. To complete the look, I designed and printed an Assassin's Creed buckle, which was then assembled into a holster along with the sword. Other items on the costume include raven badges, rivets, buckles, and rings, but this post only includes the files for the sword.
