I purchased a Xiaomi gateway along with other products that have an Asia-Pacific plug, but it's not compatible with Switzerland. To avoid waiting for a converter to arrive, I decided to design one using components from a standard Swiss plug. After just a couple of hours spent designing with Design Spark Mechanical, my DIY project was finally complete. Two 3D-printed parts were all that stood between me and a fully functional converter - they fit perfectly around the original components, which are secured in place with screws. Three thin copper bands connect the Swiss pins to the Asia-compatible Xiaomi contacts. I printed these bands using my Lulzbot printer at 205 degrees Fahrenheit for the filament and 60 degrees Celsius for the bed.
