Ashiko Drum

Ashiko Drum

thingiverse

A playable Ashiko drum awaits you, its tone controlled by size and head thickness. Size dictates pitch, while head thickness commands the tone. Though it won't produce the deep bass of an authentic Ashiko, this drum still delivers a nice tone. Altering pitch is as simple as partially covering the bottom with your hand. Print Settings: Printer Brand: SeeMeCNC Printer: Rostock MAX v2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .3mm Notes: This design is scaled to 100mm tall, but you can adjust it to suit your needs. I printed it with 4 bottom layers (remember to use zero top layers or the sound hole will be sealed!) and 5 perimeters, which is thicker than necessary for a drum of this size. Next time, I'd opt for 4 perimeters for a more balanced sound. The number of solid bottom layers directly affects the sound; four is just right for this size, but use fewer if scaling down. Experiment with different settings and have fun!
