ASA Bottle Cage (OpenSCAD model)
prusaprinters

Prusa's design of the bicycle bottle cage is great. But unfortunately, the model file cannot easily be edited.

If you have a non-standard bicycle mount (e.g. obstructions or unusual tube diameter) or if you want to transport other types of bottles (e.g. bottled water, Nalgene, thermos, ...), you need to make adjustments to diameter, length and possibly other dimensions.

That's where my OpenSCAD recreation of Prusa's model comes in handy. All the major parameters are fully customizable at the top of the source file.

For more details, see the project page: https://github.com/gutschke/bottlecage

Print instructions

The standard version of the STL file more or less replicates Prusa's version of bottle cage for common bicycle bottles. The "narrow" version has been adjusted to fit bottled water as found in the super market. And the "compact" version has been tweaked to fit bottled water on particularly space-constrained bike frames, such as a kid's bike.

But in general, I recommend opening the OpenSCAD version and customizing it exactly the way you need it.

Have a favorite thermos with completely random dimensions that you want to put on your bike? Here's your chance.

Please note that initial rendering time in OpenSCAD could be up to a couple of minutes. Subsequent rendering should be fast because of geometry caching.
