The McLaren MP4/6, a car that Aryton Senna drove to the 1991 F1 championship, was inspired by an F1 fan who reached out to me directly. This fan wrote about how my previous Senna build, the MP4/8, deeply moved him and brought back fond memories of watching F1 with his son years ago. He now wanted to build an RC car so they could relive those old races together. Moved by this heartfelt letter, I decided to revamp the F1 lineup, starting with a car that honored Senna's final championship win - the iconic MP4/6. The MP4/6 boasts a similar setup to the Mazda, relying on Tamiya's F104 rear axle and featuring front suspension. Its modular design is incredibly smart, making it easy to assemble. The car also comes equipped with a rear LED light that flashes like rain lights in real-life racing. These new cars showcase advancements in my design skills, incorporating techniques such as lofting to create more realistic, curvier designs. Both the MP4/6 and the Mazda feature actual vents and ducts, diffusers for enhanced realism. The manuals are included for both models, and all holes come pre-treaded for ease of assembly, ensuring a smooth building experience.
