Archaeological Park of Baratti and Populonia showcases the Porcareccia Necropolis, featuring the Tomba degli Aryballoi (Aryballoi Tomb), built around the end of 7th BCE by governmental excavations initiated in 1933. The tomb measures a diameter of 7 meters, boasting a 'high tumulus' chamber design with a rectangular plan and walls constructed from uneven sandstone slabs arranged in rows. The Aryballoi Tomb is also known as the "Tomb of the propped-up door," due to the presence of a large stone block used to support the massive slab serving as an entrance, both still intact. The interior consists of a narrow lateral aisle and a spacious funerary recess occupying the entire chamber space. Most grave goods are now part of the Gasparri collection, but Minto's inventory at the time of discovery lists several pieces of jewelry not included in this collection.
