Arduino Mega 2560 ADK Enclosure This meticulously crafted box is engineered to provide a polished platform for the Arduino mega, while also offering a convenient means of accessing the top proto shield or an own pcb (like for connections, leds, buttons, etc.). With this enclosure, you gain direct access to your protoshield through an open area on top, while the sides are carefully enclosed. The USB/power port is positioned neatly and safely enclosed. Any comments or feedback on this design are most welcome. Enclosure Options Depending on the type of shield or electronics used, it may be necessary to modify the top cover(s) to accommodate the space required. The standard height of the covers is 3mm, making it easy to adjust in any CAD program as needed. If you're interested in a version with a reduced height, please let us know (e.g., for short shield headers). Note that the front side of the top enclosure over the USB/power connectors is slightly thinner than on the backside. Mounting and Screws The hole diameter measures 3.10mm, allowing for M3 screws to be easily and carefully screwed in place. The Arduino can be secured with a single screw in the center or as many screws as desired. Instructions: Print Suggestions If you prefer to showcase some of your electronics while minimizing material usage, we suggest opting for the vented box version. For optimal results, you may use the following print settings: * 30-40% infill * 150-200 micron / layer height * Print without rafts, and use a slow speed on the first layers (like the first 2mm of the box) When printing the solid version, it's recommended to include support structures. However, if you're printing the vented version, you can set the maximum overhang to 70% in your slicer to ensure that supports are only used for the plugs (USB/power), leaving the vented routes unsupported. Best Print Practices To achieve optimal results, place the box vertically at the center of your 3D printer and print it separately. If not printed this way, it may warp or have uneven edges due to the build plate type and level of leveling.
