Aruba AP Stand
prusaprinters

This is an Aruba wifi AP stand. It is free standing and can be built to stand anywhere from a few inches to 7 or 8 feet tall just by cutting different lengths of PVC tubing. It doesn't use any special hardware except for the Aruba wall mount (and I'm working on a version that will not need the Aruba's mount).

This stand will work with any 2xx or 3xx series access points.

If you need to setup a portable AP quickly or place a mount high up where a plate can't be used, then this project is for you.

Print instructions

Unassociated tags: Access Point, AP Stand

Category: Computer Print Settings

Printer Brand: Prusa

Printer: i3 MK3

Rafts: No

Supports: No

Resolution: 0.20

Infill: 20%

Filament: Prusa Black PLA black Post-Printing

Assembly (PVC Tubes)

The stand uses 3/4" PVC tubing for the legs and the back to give it height. You can cut the tubing in any size depending on how high you want the stand to be. The one in the picture that I made is 20" tall. I cut the two sections between the base and the top 19" long and the leg sections where cut to 8". This give it enough stability. If you want to make it taller, you will also want to also extend the legs a bit.

(See picture of PVC pipes)

All the PVC pieces (white in the picture) just pressure fit into the mounts. It should fit tight enough that you no glue is required and it can be taken apart for travel later if needed.

Assembly (Mount Plate)

You will need an Aruba Access Point mounting plate to screw into the top of the stand. I used a AP-220-MNT-W3 mount. NOTE: I am going to work on a version that you can connect the AP directly to in the future.

(See picture of Aruba white mount)

Screw the mount into the top plate. Make sure the cable hole at the top lines up with the mounting plate.

Finished Mount
