ARTLOCK creative attachments

+++ Having attached many ARTLOCKS during the past couple of months, I've observed a tremendous level of interest from passers-by (from distance) who in many cases tried to remove the locks to take them away. Therefore, I recommend to attach the locks at positions that cannot be reached too conveniently and use a strong infill pattern / density. +++ ARTLOCK was designed as a more eye-catching, individual, and creative alternative to the love locks found all over famous places. The locking mechanism was kept super simple but proved surprisingly strong in various tests: pulling and twisting did not have any noticeable effect. Nevertheless, the idea was to fundamentally ensure removability without tools or causing damage to any property - ARTLOCKs want to be fun and no reason for headaches. ARTLOCKs come with plain surfaces or a variety of embossed motifs for easy coloring. Since no infill is required, secret messages or other small items can be included during printing (just pause at a certain layer) that can only be recovered if the shape is broken apart. For the artwork, acrylic paint or edding 75x (gloss) markers appeared to be ideal (at least for the PLA prints that I've tested so far); depending on the paints viscosity and the level of detail, priming the prints with transparent varnish might help to reduce capillary effects caused by the stepping lines. In case of acrylic paint, please make sure to use products with high pigmentation to obtain a nice opacity level with the first coating. I am very curious to see your cool designs and ideas for application - maybe this turns into a new creative wave, like stone-painting :) Some Application Ideas This is what I had in mind while designing: Event Lock: Painted during a party and attached somewhere at the event location to create a lasting memory.
